I’m only assuming these work similarly in powder form as with this sunscreen. Dimethicone forms a hydrating barrier on the skin. Methicone creates a barrier that prevents sweat and oil from shining through. Dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer, methicone and dimethicone are silicones.
